Boating and Fishing: General Information
Boat rentals are available at Lake Glacier and Lake Newport Boathouses from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. Privately owned canoes, kayaks, and boats which comply with MetroParks regulations may be used on these lakes, May - November. Shore fishing is permitted on Lakes Glacier and Newport, March - November. Fishing from boats is permitted, May - November.

Lake Glacier
Boating and fishing are permitted in season on this 44-acre lake. Kayaks, pedal boats, and rowboats can be rented at Lake Glacier Boathouse on West Glacier Drive. A passenger boat is available for individual rides and group reservations. A barrier-free fishing dock is located along West Glacier Drive.

Lake Newport
Lake Newport offers 60 acres of open water and 40 acres of wetlands. Boating and fishing are permitted in season. Kayaks and pedal boats are available to rent at Newport Boathouse on West Newport Drive. A boat launch is located on East Newport Drive.
