Development of the area began in 1949, and it opened in 1956. Facilities in this 65-acre tract include:
- children's playground with spray pool
- picnic facilities
- 18-hole Par-3 Golf Course
- softball and baseball diamonds
- sports fields
- tennis, sand volleyball, and horseshoe courts
- batting cages
- lighted sled riding slopes with warming house and snack bar
(open December, January, and February)
The Par 3, tennis courts, and batting cages are lighted for night use until 11 p.m. from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day.
Also located in this area is the Judge Morley Performing Arts Pavilion, home to the MetroParks' summer concert series.
