Summer Evenings at Fellows Riverside Gardens
The D.D. and Velma Davis Education & Visitor Center will be open to visitors until 8 p.m. on Wednesday evenings through August. The Cafe will be open until 7 p.m. for your enjoyment of summer evenings at the Gardens.

Children's Sneak Peek: Dancing Through the Decades
May 1, Thursday, 6 - 8 p.m.
Created just for children accompanied by their adult companions, Ballet Western Reserve and the Friends of Fellows Riverside Gardens present this special evening of dance. Children will learn basic dance steps and enjoy cupcakes and lemonade. Call Ballet Western Reserve to register at 330-744-1934.

Enchanted Evening in the Gardens: Dancing Through the Decades
May 2, Friday, 7 p.m.
Ballet Western Reserve and the Friends of Fellows Riverside Gardens present this enchanting evening of dance. Dancers performing to musical hits from the last 50 years will entertain guests. Hors d'oeuvres, dessert, and conversation will enhance this memorable evening. Call Ballet Western Reserve to register at 330-744-1934.

Tuesdays, 8:30 - 10 a.m. (beginner level) & 5:30 - 7 p.m.
Thursdays, 8:30 - 10 a.m. (intermediate level) and 5:30 - 7 p.m. (beginner level)

Maintain a healthy outlook and reduce stress with Heidi Suraci as she teaches a blend of energizing yoga styles. Students at all levels are welcome. Bring a mat and small blanket. Call Fellows Riverside Gardens for information.

Hot Yoga for Advanced Students
May 1, 8, 15 & 22
Thursdays 7:15 - 8:15 p.m.

This vinyasa style yoga is practiced in a heated room at about 85 degrees and uniquely blends asanas (postures) and breath work to release areas of resistance and open areas of awareness. Previous yoga experience required. Bring a mat, towel, and bottled water. Call Fellows Riverside Gardens for information.

Calendulas in a Basket
May 3, Saturday, 1:30 - 3 p.m.
Children ages 6 and up with their adult companions will learn about edible flowers. Each child will plant a basket of calendulas to take home. Gardeners and cooks love this easy to care for plant and have chosen it as "Herb of the Year." Call Fellows Riverside Gardens to register.

Flower Arranging With Marie
May 7, Wednesday, 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.
Brighten up Mother's Day with a springtime arrangement for your table. Marie Borocz will guide you step by step in creating this colorful centerpiece in a delightfully whimsical container. Call Fellows Riverside Gardens to register.

Home-Schoolers: Carnivorous Plants
May 8, Thursday, 1 - 2:30 p.m.
Home-schoolers will investigate some of the most intriguing plants on earth--carnivorous plants! Students view a brief video about this unique group of plants that have evolved to catch their food. Each child will receive a Venus flytrap to take home. Call Fellows Riverside Gardens to register.

Mother's Day Brunch
May 11, Sunday, three seatings: Noon, 2 or 4 p.m.
Celebrate Mother's Day at Fellows Riverside Gardens with your family and enjoy a delicious brunch catered by the Georgetown. Call the Gardens Cafe at 330-740-7074 for reservations and prices.

Guided Tour of Fellows Riverside Gardens
May 11, Sunday, 2 - 3:30 p.m.
Enjoy a leisurely Mother's Day walk in the Gardens to admire the vibrant hues of tulips displaying their spring colors. A guide will point out highlights while sharing anecdotes and history. Sign in at the information desk on the afternoon of the tour.

Botanical Pottery: Leaf Bowl
May 14, Wednesday, 5:30 - 8 p.m.
Lynn Cardwell, a potter whose work follows a botanical theme, will teach students to construct a bowl embossed with leaves. The pottery will be glazed, fired, and ready for pickup approximately three weeks after the class. Call Fellows Riverside Gardens to register.

Rainbow Colors
May 16 or 17
Friday, 11 a.m. - Noon or Saturday, 11 a.m. - Noon

Preschoolers ages 3 - 5 and their favorite adults will discover flowers in the colors of the rainbow in the Family Garden. A snack and story will be enjoyed. Each child will arrange a bouquet to take home. Call Fellows Riverside Gardens to register.

At the Plant Sale: Container Gardens
May 16, Friday, 1:30 - 3:30 p.m.
Gordon Vujevic will discuss planting and caring for unusual combinations of annuals, herbs, and vegetables. Bring a container to class. Shop with the instructor at the plant sale and return to the classroom to plant your selections. Soil will be provided and a $5 plant sale coupon will be given to each person registered. At the Plant Sale: Woody Plants
May 17, Saturday, 10:30 - 11:30 a.m.
Join Gordon Vujevic on a walk through the Gardens to look at varieties of trees and shrubs that are for sale at the Plant Sale. Receive tips on planting the right tree or shrub in the right place. Call Fellows Riverside Gardens to register for this free program.

Restoration Yoga
May 18, Sunday, 9 - 11 a.m.

Succulent Dish Garden

Breakfast Botany: Crab Apples

Meditation in Movement
May 25, Sunday, Noon - 2 p.m.
Join Julie Thomas in the Tara Dance. Through simple, graceful movements you will learn to focus on inner strengths while appreciating the beauty of the surrounding gardens. Call Fellows Riverside Gardens to register.

Girls' Night Out at the Gardens
May 29, Thursday, 5 - 9 p.m.
Immerse yourself in all things feminine! The Shop in the Gardens will highlight many new items from fashion accessories to garden ornaments. Add colorful alliums, tulips, narcissus, crocus, and hyacinths to your home garden. Place your order now for Friends of Fellows Riverside Gardens' Bulb Sale. Order forms are available at the Gardens. Bulbs will be ready to pick up and plant in the fall.

Great roses for the home garden will be highlighted at the Friends of Fellows Riverside Gardens' Plant Sale. Perennials, including those for the shade garden, will be available in addition to annuals, herbs, shrubs, vegetables, and summer bulbs.

Dahlia Society's Plant Sale

The Mahoning Valley Dahlia Society will hold a sale at Fellows Riverside Gardens. Discover unique varieties that will add to the diversity of your dahlia collection.

The design influences of John Paolano, landscape architect of Fellows Riverside Gardens, have been appreciated and admired for 50 years. This exhibit honors his remarkable talents.

Cast Leaf Workshop
June 25, Wednesday, 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.
Pam Baytos will teach you how to use a hosta or rhubarb leaf as a mold to create a concrete leaf casting for a garden ornament or birdbath. You'll receive the "recipe" and tips for making future garden sculptures. Call Fellows Riverside Gardens to register.

Advanced Master Gardener Class: Herbaceous Perennials
June 26, Thursday, 6 - 8 p.m.
This is the first class in a new series of classes geared specifically for Master Gardeners. Tonight's topic will cover our most popular and unusual herbaceous perennials in the Gardens focusing on plant ID, cultural requirements, and propagation. Call Fellows Riverside Gardens to register.
