The Fellows Trust was established in 1958 by Mrs. Elizabeth Anne Rudge Fellows for the creation of a free public garden and perpetual care of the garden in memory of Mrs. Fellows' parents, James and Elizabeth Smith Rudge. The funding for the Gardens is paid for in part through the Trust; the remaining is paid through the Mill Creek Metropolitan Park District budget and private donations.
